Chickpea "Toona"

Looking for a quick and simple lunch idea?! Check out this "toona" sandwich. It can also be paired with crackers or even a salad. The possibilities are endless.  Not to mention, it's budget friendly!

Shopping List

  • 1 1/2 cup or 1 can of chickpeas 

  • 1 tbsp. liquid aminos/ soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp. vegan worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice 

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp nutritional yeast

  • half of nori sheet, finely cut

  • 1/2 cup celery, diced 

  • 1/4 cup onion, diced

  • 3 tbsp. vegan mayo

  • pinch of black pepper

  • salt to taste


  1. Dice onion, and celery and set aside.

  2. In a medium sized bowl, add cooked chickpeas and mash with a fork.

  3. Next, add soy sauce, vegan worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, nutritional yeast, black pepper, sea salt, and nori sheet. Stir to combine.

  4. Lastly, add celery, onion, and vegan mayo. Stir until everything is well combined.
